Multiple Teams · Baseball, Soccer and Tennis Win on Saturday


The Cashmere Bulldogs traveled to Quincy on Saturday and defeated the Jackrabbits in both ends of the doubleheader.  Game 1, which was the CTL contest that counted as a “league game”, was won by Cashmere 18-3.  Senior Brayden Weatherman picked up the win on the mound after tossing 4 scoreless innings (4IP, 0R, 1H, 9K, 0BB).

Senior Duke Odenrider led the Bulldogs offense with four hits (4 for 5, 4 RBI), and Kaden Keogh added three hits (3 for 4, 2 RBI).  Weatherman, Dalton Larson, Cole Scott and Cade Carlson had two hits apiece.

In game two, the Bulldogs held the Jacks to just one hit as Cashmere won by the score of 12-0.  Sophomore Trenton Mason earned the victory on the mound after tossing three no-hit innings (3IP, 0R, 0H, 2K, 0BB, 2 HBP).  Cade Carlson (IP, 0R, 0H, K, 0BB) and Duke Odenrider (IP, 0R, H, K, BB) tossed scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Cole Scott (pictured) was 4 for 4 in game two, and Brayden Weatherman added three hits and scored three runs.  Duke Odenrider, Colson Brunner and Jack Croci added two hits apiece.

The Bulldogs are now 6-2 on the season, and 2-0 in Caribou Trail League play.  They will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Wenatchee to face the 4A Panthers at Rec Park starting at 4:30 pm.



The Cashmere Bulldogs hosted the Brewster Bears on Saturday and won by the score of 5-2.  After a scoreless first half the Bulldogs came alive after intermission as Miguel Ramos scored one minute into the 2nd half off an assist from Evan Bakken to give Cashmere a 1-0 lead.  The Bulldogs added four more goals in the 2nd half.  Bakken scored two goals, and fellow seniors Ty Schoening and Pierce Naccarato also scored goals for the Bulldogs.  Oscar Orozco and Schoening picked up assists in the 2nd half for Cashmere.

The Bulldogs are 2-0 in CTL play with two CTL matches remaining on their schedule (@ Chelan May 12th & vs. Cascade on May 14th).  However, this week the Bulldogs will play their final two non-conference matches of the season when they host the 4A Wenatchee Panthers on Tuesday, and then the Royal Knights will come to town on Friday.



The Cashmere High School boys’ and girls’ tennis teams remain undefeated in Caribou Trail League play with perfect 3-0 records.  On Wednesday, the Bulldogs traveled to Leavenworth to face the Kodiaks and the girls came away with a 4-1 victory, and the Cashmere boys won by the score of 3-2.  Lauren and Faith Kert remain undefeated on the season as they have dominated their opponents in girls’ singles play.  The doubles teams of Katelyn Cooper and Lexi Neu, and Miranda Sites and Sophie Graybill also picked up victories over the Kodiaks on Wednesday.

On the boys side, Kane Andruss (6-1, 6-0) and Zeke Lewis (6-0, 6-1) picked up convincing victories in 1st and 2nd singles.  Kyle Carney and Dyllion Taylor (7-6, 6-1) also picked a victory in 2nd doubles to help Cashmere defeat the Kodiaks by a narrow margin.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs traveled to Ephrata for a non-league match and the Cashmere girls won by the score of 4-3, and the Cashmere boys were defeated by Ephrata 2-5.  The Cashmere girls played without their top singles player, Lauren Kert, and they were able to shuffle their line-up to defeat the Tigers.  Freshman Faith Kert remained undefeated in singles play as she played 1st singles for the first time this season and won by the score of 6-0, 6-1.  Ellie Martin and Miranda Sites picked up victories in 3rd and 4th singles, and Katelyn Cooper and Lexi Neu were victorious in 1st doubles.

On the boys side, Kane Andruss won his match in 1st singles (6-1, 6-2), and Julian Hernandez and Luis Morelos defeated Ephrata in 1st doubles by the score of 6-1, 6-3.

Cashmere will take on all three 4A schools in the region this week.  On Monday they will travel to Moses Lake to face the Chiefs.  They will also host Wenatchee on Wednesday, and on Saturday they will be in East Wenatchee to compete against the Eastmont Wildcats.
